Poets, like bloggers, believe that they are interesting. Actually, faith in one's intrigue is the fundamental principle to which every poet subscribes, because the enterprise is unsustainable otherwise.
But a good storyteller understands he is not all that interesting. This is why poets are burdened with lovers and muses, and storytellers just have characters.
To be honest, I struggle with the concept. My narrators are forever disappearing down monologues.
