You know, if the melbs boys blogged more often, I wouldn't have to keep telling you about their latest ruminations. You'd just know, and go there.

However, I'm hoping that some recent pointed gibes and polite blackmail have at least temporarily rectified the situation. Peter has been stung into action, with two posts in the last 24 hours.

Now, if I were a historian of the current fear of terrorism, rather than a historian (for two more weeks) of the 1980s nuclear anxiety—which is, I submit to you, its immediate precursor and template—if I were a historian of early 21st century terrorist fears in the West, I would be very excited to discover Peter's recollection of a recent nicotine dream.
