Ruddock and the rungs

So Ruddock is no longer the Immigration Minister. The lady to our left takes up the baton. What are the implications for our illegally incarcerated refugees? Is there any reason for renewed hope at all?

If there is, is it wholly outweighed by the Emperor of the Dark Side* collecting the Attorney-General portfolio? Surely that is the area a morally bankrupt individual could do the most harm. Just look at what Daryl Williams did. There'll be a party going down at ASIO headquarters tonight. But you're not invited.

Seriously though, I'm keen to hear some analysis on this. What are your thoughts?
